The Leaf

I sit back and watch as the breeze lifts the leaves gently, they sway from side to side, and gently fall back in place from the branch in which they hang.  Another breeze; the leaves dance their delicate dance, ever holding on to their base, their source of strength.

My son walks out the front door, gives me a hug while he tells me good bye.  He walks over to his car, climbs in.  I watch as he drives off.

Another breeze blows pass, my attention returns to the tree.  A leaf that was once holding on to the branch has released itself - if flies off into the air, gliding delicately in the currents, up, down, swirls itself away, further and further away....
